This morning I spent a few moments channeling my inner Spielberg, by capturing the Christmas Eve shennanigans of Port Navas creek.
As always it was a bit of a 'slow news' day, but there was a lovely little dinghy slowly tacking back and forth in the middle distance.
I noticed that the guests at Navas Nook had taken their young son to the bottom of the public slipway to look at the ducks, which I thought was rather a lovely scene. I didn't disturb them with an, "Hello, I'm just filming my latest masterpiece, so can you put these Christmas hats on and look more festive please?" because I had no hats for them and it's not a very me thing to do anyway.
But what I did do, was walk very slowly and carefully along the pontoon capturing the fast-past dynamism as best I could, on my 'phone.
These are the main things that I managed not to do...
I managed to not fall over.
I managed to not fall in.
I managed to not get my fat fingers over the lens.
These are the main things that I managed to do...
I managed to keep the 'phone moderately steady and in 'Landscape'.
I managed to commentate a little, despite it all happening so fast.
I managed to press 'stop' without a massive wobble of shot.
Other than the 'duck family' I saw nobody except Ben Ainslie having a little pre-festivities pootle under full main and headsail.
Have a merry little Christmas
Kurt
* It wasn't Ben Ainslie (Probably)
